| Content: | The Guangzhou/ Hong Kong/ Macao/ Chengdu Youth Skills Competition aims to provide a platform for young talents to demonstrate their skills and exchange technical knowhow so as to promote the status of the young tradesmen in the society. The competition is organised biennially in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao and Chengdu on a rotation basis. This year, the 7th competition was held in Chengdu in November 2012. There are 5 trades in this competition. The topic of the IT trade is Web Design. Participants have to complete a Web site which has many functions within 5 hours. Three IVE students who are studying the Higher Diploma in Software Engineering in IVE(Tsing Yi) represented Hong Kong to participate in the competition and one of the participants, Wong Chung Man achieved the bronze award in this trade. The award was the result of months of intensive training and commitment by the students and the trainers from the IT discipline.
